Accountant - Indiana (USA) (Ref. 61442)

Mission:
Support and assist financial activities of the Company to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness and compliance of financial data and information to the Board of Directors, joint-venture partners and appropriate government agencies. Hours expected: approx 45+/week as salary position.

Responsabilities:
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business - transactions.
- Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and help ensure expenditure control.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Other duties as assigned.

Tasks:
- Completing month-end closing process including preparing all monthly journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Running all closing reports and performing monthly analysis of results requested by both SDI and LFG.
- Completing budget and forecast activities.
- Maintaining fixed asset system.
- Completing monthly cost reports.
- Review all invoices prior to payment and sales.
- Review aging for collection issues.
- Monitor and complete inventory activities.
- Review collections – entry from lockbox for payments; and l) work on any special projects (i.e. “what-if” scenarios).
- Review hedge operations

- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, three to five years of accounting experience.
